English weekend in the Palóc land

We would like to invite you to an English-speaking weekend with 2 non-native English tutors and some other learners of English in a relaxing and less well-known part of the country.

What can you expect from the weekend?

You can improve your fluency in English in a relaxed, friendly, totally ‘out-of-classroom’ environment through having a lot of opportunities to have conversations with us and each other
You can meet other people who also learn English as a foreign language. (We expect people who can make themselves understood in everyday situations. Above level A2-B1)
You will get to know some hidden treasures of the Hungarian countryside and landscape
You will have a pleasant retreat in English – we will take a walk in the neighbourhood (depending on the weather), enjoy the peace and quiet and play games in English
You will learn about rural lifestyles and Hungarian culture
We also expect expats (any nationality) who are interested in the cultural differences and would like to discover the Hungary which are off the beaten track

Where

Szandaváralja, a traditional “palóc” village in the north-east of Hungary, Nógrád county, about 90km from Budapest. Accommodation: guesthouse. Simple but clean, 2 bedrooms with bunk beds, bedlinen is provided (no towel).

When

February 25-26, 2012

Departure from Budapest, February 25, Saturday, 9.00 am

Departure from the village, February 26, Sunday, around 4.00 pm

What to pack

Warm and comfortable winter clothes, waterproof shoes suitable for longer walks or hiking. Please take pot luck (some food and drink) – we will share the food and have our meals in a nice atmosphere.

Payment

HUF 15.000 + travel costs (appr. HUF 3.000)

If you have decided to apply, please make sure you pay a non-refundable deposit of HUF 5.000 until February 20.

Travel

To cut costs we usually share a ride. If you do not want to miss anything, it is a good idea to travel together because we always arrange some nice program on the way there. If you are from the countryside, you are also welcome but you will need to arrange your journey there and back.

Deadline of application

If you would like to attend, please call us until 20 February 2012 so that we can book our accommodation. We can receive a minimum of 3 and maximum of 6 applications in order of payments. See contact below.
